This course introduces the mathematical tools that analyze motion, growth, and optimization in the world around us. You'll master the core concepts of single-variable calculus including functions, limits and continuity, derivatives, and definite integrals, then apply these techniques to analyze rates of change, solve optimization problems, and calculate accumulated quantities like total distance from varying speeds. Whether you're modeling population dynamics in biology, maximizing profit in economics, or analyzing forces in physics and engineering, calculus provides the essential mathematical foundation. We'll develop both your computational skills and mathematical intuition, emphasizing how abstract concepts connect to concrete applications.
